• cup Besan (Gram Flour)
• cup Atta
• 1-1/2 tablespoon Red Chili Powder
• 1/2 tablespoon Turmeric Powder
• 4 pinches Asafetida
• 1/2 tablespoon Cumin seeds
• 1 tbsp Coriander Leaves (finely chopped)
• 1 medium-sized Onion (finely chopped)
• Salt to taste
• Ghee to shallow fry
Mix all the ingredients except butter in a normal bowl and knead it into very soft dough utilising hot water.
Cover the dough with a muslin cloth and leave only it for 15 minutes.
After the desirable time period, split the dough into equivalent pieces and roll aside each piece into a little circle.
Now apply a little butter in the center of each circle and fold all the adjoining sides.
Roll aside the above into a larger circle and place it on a heated griddle.
Once paratha is cooked on one side, turn it over; apply butter on the cooked side.
Now allow to cook the other side and repeat the same process until both sides are the right way cooked.
Put off the burn and serve up Besan Paratha with curd or pickle.
