Mexican Sugar Cookies Recipe • 1 cup White Sugar
• 1/2 tbsp Cream of Tartar
• 3 tbsp Ground Cinnamon
• 1 tbsp Baking Powder
• 1 tablespoon Aniseed (grounded)
• 6 cups All-Purpose Flour
• 2 Eggs
• 1/4 cup Orange Juice
• 1/2 tablespoon Salt
• 1 cup White Sugar
• 2-1/2 cups Shortening
Preheat oven to 350 degree F.
Beat 2-1/2 cups cutting down until fluffy.
Add anise seed and sugar, mix until creamy, besides add egg and blends well.
Add cream of tartar, salt, flour, baking power and orange juice; mix well.
Knead dough until it changes smooth and roll it to 1/2 inch thick.
Using a cookie cutter cut down into another shapes.
Bake for 5 to 8 minutes.
Roll cookies in mixture of cinnamon and sugar while still warm. Serve.
