| • | Add the daal in 4 cups water.

| • | Mix table salt and turmeric powder.

| • | Boil the mixture until soft.

| • | Stir in tamarind chutney.

| • | Keep the dal mixture aside.

| • | Add turmeric powder, garam masala, reddish chilli powder, cumin powder and mango powder.

| • | Heat the butter in a little pan.
|
| • | Add daal and masala.
|
| • | Mix it well.
|
| • | Dal is ready.
|
| • | Add table salt and butter to maida.
|
| • | Prepare very soft dough.
|
| • | Make little balls form the cooked dough.
|
| • | Roll aside little puris and prick them by a knife.
|
| • | Fry in butter until crisp.
|
| • | Pakwaan is ready.
|
| • | Serve red-hot daal with pakwan.
